As a participant in our Mentor-as-Changemaker Workshop you no doubt come with a problem you want to solve. At the conclusion of these five weekly sessions you'll be well on your way to a clearly developed plan and as well as a knowledge base on how to build your own platform.
Session One: Introducing the Changemaker Method. Using the stories of prominent changemakers and social entrepreneurs in education as reference point, you will become familiar with the reasoning behind:
Sessions Two and Three: A Case Study. We will apply this method to the story of one low-income youth, Aurelio Villanueva, a composite of the many youths that Clint Wilkins has known in his career as an educator. We will apply the diagnostic and planning tools found in our Advanced Resources Kit to Aurelio's development over twenty years. And. you will start visualizing how his story may apply to your own experience.
Session Four: Building Your Own Platform. Working with others in small groups, you will start the formal design process to address your own needs.
Session Five: Sharing Your Platform. You will present your design and get critical feedback from others.
After these five sessions, you are fully equipped to draw upon your own community of changemaker mentors -- a full spectrum of multi-generational adults. If you run into any difficulties, however, one of our coaches will be available for short consultations (5-10 minutes) gratis. Longer consultations will be at a rate of $100 per hour.
